Saudi Arabia and France sign 21 agreements at investment roundtable

Public and private entities from the two countries signed 21 agreements and memoranda at a Saudi French investment roundtable attended by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and President Emmanuel Macron, covering energy, industry, financial services, transport and logistics, artificial intelligence, culture, health and tourism. Saudi Aramco accounted for around 3.7 billion dollars of the announcements and the finance ministry agreed with Bpifrance Assurance Export on a credit line of up to 5 billion dollars.

Tadawul main index closes higher at 11,231 points

The Tadawul All Share Index added 57.48 points, or 0.51 percent, to finish Tuesday at 11,231.61, with turnover of more than 6.10 billion riyals and 121 stocks advancing against 129 that declined. The parallel Nomu market eased 0.11 percent to 21,622.39, while the MSCI Tadawul Index rose 0.50 percent to 1,512.92.

PIF backed Qiddiya plans 6 billion euro theme park destination near Paris

Qiddiya, the entertainment giga-project owned by the Public Investment Fund, set out plans for a multi park destination in the Ile de France region worth about 6 billion euros, or roughly 7 billion dollars, built around three entertainment anchors and hotels. French officials said the site near Cergy Pontoise is expected to create around 22,000 jobs, marking one of the largest Saudi investments in Europe to date.

New Saudi growth fund launches as regional startups keep raising

Riyadh based Pinnacle launched a growth stage venture capital fund targeting technology companies through both primary rounds and secondary transactions, with fintech, e-commerce, health and property technology among its focus areas. In the same week Saudi education technology firm AILA closed a 3 million dollar pre series A round led by Rua Growth Fund, with 500 Global, Jo Academy, Bunat VC and Fikr Ventures joining.

Saudi business revenues climb 6 percent as manufacturing leads

Operating revenues across Saudi businesses rose 6 percent year on year in June, with manufacturing and financial services each up 17 percent. Mining and quarrying fell 11 percent year on year, while building permits issued rose 20 percent.

PIF takes 25 percent stakes in four Saudi Pro League clubs

The Public Investment Fund, working with the sports ministry, received a quarter of the shares in Al Hilal, Al Nassr, Al Ittihad and Al Ahli from the non profit foundations that held them and those foundation boards are to be dissolved. No financial terms were disclosed. The move is the second phase of a club privatisation programme that started in 2024.

Cenomi Centers signs PIF backed mall agreement in Medina

Cenomi Centers agreed with Saudi Downtown Company, a PIF company, to lead the development, design, procurement and delivery of a shopping mall inside the Al Madinah Downtown project, under a three year management contract with an option to extend by two years. The operator also signed a separate 25 year lease and operating agreement for the finished mall.

Diriyah raises $533 million from Arab National Bank for branded homes

Diriyah Company, which is backed by the Public Investment Fund, secured a 2 billion riyal facility from Arab National Bank to fund branded residences at Wadi Safar. The giga-project is planning around 18,000 homes in total across Diriyah and Wadi Safar, with contracts worth more than 110 billion riyals already awarded.

PIF lifts its share of the Saudi non-oil economy to 11 percent

The Public Investment Fund's annual report put its 2025 contribution to non-oil GDP at 11 percent, up from 10 percent a year earlier, with assets under management above 900 billion dollars and revenue 9 percent higher at 120 billion dollars. Net earnings came in at 17 billion dollars against 6.9 billion dollars in 2024.

Acwa Power to build $400 million desalination and salt facility in Indonesia

Saudi utility developer Acwa Power signed a joint development agreement in Jakarta with Indonesian state salt producer Garam to build a 400 million dollar seawater reverse osmosis plant paired with an industrial salt line at Manyar, Gresik, in East Java. Indonesia imports more than 4 million tonnes of industrial salt a year.

PIF sets 2026 to 2030 strategy around returns and private capital

The Public Investment Fund published a 36 page strategy for 2026 to 2030 that puts more weight on investment returns and on drawing private sector capital into its portfolio than on state funded giga-project spending. The document organises its focus into six ecosystems, among them tourism, urban development, advanced manufacturing and clean energy and water infrastructure.

Saudi Arabia enters global top 10 for private AI investment

The World Bank's 2026 World Development Report places Saudi Arabia among the ten largest sources of private artificial intelligence investment and describes the Kingdom as a magnet for AI talent. Data centre capacity reached 467 MW in the first quarter of 2026, up from 68 MW in 2021.
